Hi, I’m Eleanor and I’m the founder of Your Best Asset.
I’ve been fortunate to work in some incredible environments and, like most of us, I’ve had some less positive workplace experiences too.
My lifelong fascination with what makes people ‘tick’ has covered the breadth of my 20-year career focused on different aspects of human behaviour from violent sex offenders, to education, to workplace dynamics.
I’ve worked in, and with, the corporate, mental health, law enforcement, education, and not-for-profit sectors.
My experiences led me to think, ‘what if workplaces look like this…?’
Staff are in their ideal roles, where their personal ‘why’ fits in with the team purpose.
Culture is defined, healthy, and provides an environment where everyone can thrive.
Morale is genuine, not a survival mechanism.
Leaders are invested in to grow themselves and their people.
Clients and customers get outstanding service as a result of the way we work together.
Sounds pretty good, hey?
And I fully believe this is possible for all workplaces. I am passionate about working with people who make a difference to the lives of others. To help them find their fit. To develop them as leaders. To create teams and cultures that enable them to thrive.
Nothing upsets me more…
…than speaking with clients who have invested in their own or their team development and their experience has been fully ‘off the shelf’ and solely focused on getting through a process. Where individuals are treated like dispensable cogs in the wheel. Where leaders don’t feel they can ask the hard questions of themselves to grow their own skills. Where the client is treated like a transaction, not a valued relationship.
You care about your team. You care about the impact you have on your clients. You care about your own journey as a leader. You believe that impact reflects doing what you can, where you are at, with what you have – and you believe all of those can be enhanced.
So do I.
Outside of
business-as-usual…
I live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, which is Gubbi Gubbi land. I’m an ardent supporter and advocate of causes relating to child protection, human trafficking, and refugees and help to run my local branch of the Disabled Surfers Association.
Now for the formalities…
I hold an MSc in Forensic Psychology and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I am an ICF accredited coach, and I combine these with other qualifications in training design and human behaviour to create and deliver high impact programs.
